Monitor if a database is up without the using the AppInsight for SQL

Hi,

Are there any components monitors that will monitor if a database instance is up on mssql server? If there is can someone show me where i can find it in SAM? I don't want to use the AppInsight for SQL as it uses too many monitors that i don't need.
